To the editor:
Where are the three MLAs in pictou County? There silence is deafening. To me it is as if we have no representation in Halifax whatsoever.
No opinion on the Northern Pulp situation. I have learned more tenders are out for further demolition of the former Trenton Works buildings.
The critical shortage of general practitioners in the area. Long waits at out patients in the local hospital. For example my next door neighbour waited 10 hours there and could only have one medical ailment attended to. Many people are choosing to go to the Antigonish hospital.
Many roads in ths are are in deplorable condition and we need a driving safety program in the media as driving is becoming more and more dangerous in the county. Many cars do not have day time driving lights working and liscense plates which you can not tell what province they are from let alone see the lettering on them.
We need help and leadership around here and i do not mean leader of the opposition or another premier. We have had two other premiers here from the county and that produced nothing if not a negative effect.
I vote out of duty and not because I desire to.We need some person we can elect to speak out on behalf of Pictou County not just occupy a set in the legislature and gain a large retirement pension.
There are so many things which could be done to improve the future of Pictou County is we had the right people to elect.Time for action not words on an election campaign
