AAA Selects win, tie on the weekend

PICTOU –The Northern AAA Subway Selects took three of four points this weekend with a win and a tie against the Northern Lightning of Miramichi this weekend in the Nova Scotia Female Midget Hockey League.

The three points keep the Selects on top of the standings in the seven-team league.

On Saturday the Subways took a 5-2 win with goals coming from Cassie Clarke, Ashley Livingston, KJ Emery and Natalie McKay with a pair.

Kristen MacNeil got the win between the pipes.

On Sunday the Selects had to battle back from a 3-1 deficit to earn a 3-3 tie. Alyssa Fitt, Landyn Pitts and Tori MacPherson did the scoring while net minding duties were shared between Erin Sullivan and MacNeil. The Selects will break for the Subway Cup tourney this weekend and will resume league play the following weekend with a home and home against Cape Breton.
