NEW GLASGOW, N.S. – The Bluenose Curling Club has a busy month of February lined up.
The New Glasgow club will host two provincial championships – the Nova Scotia Stick Curling Championship Feb. 15 to 17, and the Wheelchair Curling Championship Feb. 22 to 24.
The stick curling event will feature 28 teams – 18 competing in the open division, which includes mixed teams, and 10 in the women’s division. Eight local teams from the Bluenose and Westville clubs will be taking part.
Three teams will take part in the wheelchair championship. Devin Forbes will skip a team from the Bluenose club. His teammates include Bill MacKenzie, Crystal Mann, Kathy McIsaac and Colleen Robichaud. The rink is coached by John Marshall.
Other teams include current provincial champion Trendal Hubley-Bolivar, of Lakeshore, and former provincial champion Laughie Rutt, also of Lakeshore.
Both curling events are being sponsored by Harding Medical.

Feb. 15: 1st draw at 9:15 a.m., final draw at 5:45 p.m.
Feb. 16: 1st draw at 7:30 a.m., final draw at 9:30 p.m.
Feb. 17: Playoffs at 10:30 a.m., championship games at 2:15 p.m.
N.S. wheelchair curling schedule
Feb 22: game times: 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 23: game times: 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m.
Feb 24: game times: 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. (if necessary)
