Coyotes howl at boys basketball tourney

RIVERTON, N.S. – 

The Dr. W.A. MacLeod Coyotes boys basketball team beat the host Pugwash Panthers 70-47 to win the Pugwash Junior Boys Invitational Tournament 2020 t5hids past weekend.

Tournament MVP Dakota Fitt led the way for the Coyotes with a 26-point performance while Player of the Game Keinon Decoste scored 15 and Aaron MacLeod added 13.

The Coyotes advanced to the championship game with a 76-53 win over the New Glasgow Academy Panthers.

Decoste dumped in 30 points to pace the Coyotes’ attack. Fitt scored 22 and Nathan Grant added eight. MacLeod was named Player of the Game.

The W.A. team opened the tournament with a 74-19 win over the River Hebert Raiders.

Fitt scored 25 and Decoste dumped in 16. Tanner MacGregor was named Player of the Game.
