EDMUNDSTON, N.B. - The Junior A Crushers have a little winning streak going.

Jacob Hickey scored 16 seconds into overtime as the Crushers beat the Edmundston Blizzard 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in New Brunswick. The win over the MHL North Divisions first-place team was the Crushers second straight win over a quality opponent; they beat the Truro Bearcats on Nov. 30. Hickeys OT winner was his 13th the goal of the season, which leads the team.

Liam Leonard had two goals for the Blizzard.

Defenceman Marc Gagnon, who has missed almost two months with an upper-body injury, assisted on two goals from Dylan Riley. Hickey and Giancarlo Firio also had assists.

After a slow start to the season, Riley, last seasons Maritime Hockey League rookie of the year, has scored five goals in the past three games and has 11 overall.

The Crushers (10-12-2) are in fifth place in the South Division, and are five points back of the Bearcats. Pictou County have two games in hand on Truro and play the Valley Wildcats Thursday at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
