Led by two goals from Andrew Burden, the Pictou County Crushers beat the Valley Wildcats 5-2 on Thursday.

Evan Gallant, Cal MacPherson and Malcolm Genge also supplied goals for Pictou County, who trailed just 30 seconds into the game, but scored five straight to take control.

Jaden Mason and Sam LeBlanc each had two assists for Pictou County (3-2), who are at the Summerside Western Capitals on Saturday night.

The Capitals have a record of 5-1 and are tied with the Edmundston Blizzard for first place in the MHL’s North Division.

The Crushers next home game is Oct. 10 against the Truro Bearcats.

The will be without forward Sullivan Sparkes, who was given a four-game suspension for a slash on Sept. 28 in South Shore, while forwards Kevin Mason (day-to-day) and Brayden Ryan (out at least a week) are both dealing with upper-body injuries suffered against South Shore.

Sparkes leads the Crushers in scoring with six points, all assists.
