MOUNT WILLIAM – The Junior A Crushers saw their winless streak reach seven games on Monday, after a 2-1 loss to the Grand Falls Rapids.

In an MHL Showcase game – the event is being hosted at the Pictou County Wellness Centre, with all 12 MHL teams taking part – Jean-Simon Belanger and Chris Melendez had the goals for Grand Falls, and Evan Gallant scored for Pictou County, who have not won since their season-opener on Sept. 13.

The Crushers will have a chance to turn things around on Tuesday night in a 7 p.m. game against the Summerside Western Capitals.

Summerside Western Capitals 4, South Shore Lumberjacks 1

Kallum Muirhead, Calum MacPherson, Josh MacDonald, and Marc Richard each had a goal and an assist for Summerside.

Truro Bearcats 3, Miramichi Timberwolves 1

Myles Hektor made 31 saves and Kyle Sexton scored the winner for Truro.

Amherst Ramblers 3, Campbellton Tigers 0

Alex Lafreniere posted a goal and an assist for Amherst, while Matt Williams stopped all 27 shots he faced for the shutout.

St. Stephen Aces 3, Valley Wildcats 2

Ryan MacDonald scored the winner 1:35 after Matt Warner had tied the game for Valley. Yarmouth Mariners 5, Edmundston Blizzard 2

Matt Barron potted a hat trick for the Mariners.
