The New Glasgow Sullivan Fuels Bantam AA Baseball team swept three exhibition games vs the Cape Breton Sooners this past weekend in New Glasgow.

On Friday night, the Fuel Crew defeated the Sooners 3-2. Lane Lochead was the winning pitcher, striking out nine Cape Breton batters. Ashton Royea came in late to convert the save.

Adam Farrell, Lochead, Jared Langille, and Ethan Tibbetts all had hits for New Glasgow.

In Game 1 on Saturday, New Glasgow again came out on top by a 3-2 score. Langille, Graham, and Royea were strong on the mound, only giving up three hits. Lochead and Cory MacGillivray were the top hitters for the Fuel.

In the finale, New Glasgow's offense exploded scoring for 10 runs, winning 10-0 in five innings. MacGillivray and Carter Dickson shut down the Cape Breton offence, surrendering just one hit.

Top batters were Tanner Steele going 3 for 3, Lochead and Carter Dickson 2 for 2, while Gage Connors, Brennan Dalton Tibbetts, Langille and Peyton Clements each had single hits.

The Fuel Crew next see action July 21 at the Kinsmen complex in New Glasgow, where they will face the Bridgewater Bulldogs for two games starting at noon.
