It will be an all-Halifax final for the Deloitte Tankard championship on Sunday morning.

Kendal Thompson built a 4-0 lead through three ends and then cruised to a 7-2 eight-end victory over Truro’s Chad Stevens in the Saturday evening semifinal at the Dartmouth Curling Club.

Thompson will face clubmate Jamie Murphy in the 9 a.m. final.

Murphy, a five-time Tankard champion, clinched his final spot after finishing 6-1 in preliminary play.

Stevens entered Saturday in a three-way tie at 4-3 with defending champion Stuart Thompson of Dartmouth and Halifax’s Matthew Manuel, sending the triumvirate of teams to two tiebreakers.

In the morning tiebreaker, Stevens scored three in the 10th end for a 9-6 victory over Manuel. Later that afternoon, Stevens notched two in the second end, stole another two in the third and added two more in the fifth and seventh ends for an 8-6 decision over Stuart Thompson.
