Bantam AA Crushers lose in crossovers at memorial tournament

MOUNT WILLIAM – The Pictou County Wonder Auto Bantam AA Crushers had their run at the Bantam Memorial Tournament come to an end on Sunday morning at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.

After posting three wins in as many games in the round robin portion, they lost 4-1 to the Sackville Flyers in a crossover game.

The EDZA South Seadogs took home the Bantam AA championship.

Luke Young had the only goal for the home side on Sunday.

On Saturday afternoon, the Bantam AA team finished their round robin with an 11-1 win over the Northside Vikings.

Sam Hickey had four goals, Landen MacDonald scored twice, Raymond Chisholm, Evan Shea, Brycen MacDonald and Keegan Murray all chipped with singles.

Missing out on crossovers

Both local Bantam A teams failed to make the crossovers.

On Saturday, Pictou County Bantam A Crushers (Red) lost 2-1 to the Sackville Flyers, with Ben MacGillvray getting his team’s only goal. Pictou County (White) beat the TASA Ducks 4-1. Andrew Goswell, Dominic Bond, Thomas Kennaley-Bayer and Matthew Deyoung scored goals for the locals.

The Shelburne County Flames were the Bantam A champions.
