PORT HAWKESBURY – The Pictou County Wear Well Major Bantam Bombers snapped a brief losing streak and welcomed the New Year with a 2-1 win over The Novas on Sunday.
In a game played at Port Hawkesbury, Landon Sim and Matt Carson had the Bombers’ goals and Tyler Matchem made 23 saves in the net for Pictou County, who wrapped up the month of January with two straight losses.
The Bombers have a won-loss record of 12-9-4 in the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League and are in sixth place in the 12-team loop. The team will be taking part in the 2018 IceJam tournament this weekend.
