Brendon Duff started off the scoring, soon followed by a Lucas Eshleman goal in the first.

The Blues started to break down the lead with a goal from Paul Gulliver still early in the first, but to no avail with Riley Cameron scoring on the power play for the Scotians still only six minutes into the game.

Cumberland County continued to fight back with goals from Ryan Crowe and Gavyn Connell-Helle, but were still behind after Brandon Verge sunk one.

The second and third frame only saw goals from Pictou County with Eshleman grabbing another, and Craig Matheson, Darryl Wheaton, and Liam Murphy each knocking one into the Blues’ net.

Both teams racked up a few penalties in the second and third, several of which were stemming from a fight between Pictou County’s Tyler Chisholm and Cumberland County’s Reilly Hicks-McMillan, and a scuffle between Pictou County’s Ryan MacDonald and Cumberland County’s Ryan Crowe.

Riley Cameron had three assists while Matheson, and Jordan Yochoff each had two.

Eshleman, Verge, Wheaton, Brandon MacKenzie, Jocelyn Poirierm Bradley MacEachen, Matthew Oldfield, and Cole Livingston all had one assist.

Jason Falkenham had the win in nets, saving 14 out of 17 shots.
