BERWICK, N.S. – The Pictou County Crushers kept pace with the Truro Bearcats in Maritime Hockey League action on Friday, beating the Valley Wildcats 5-1.

In a game played in Berwick, Michael Dill scored two goals and had an assist as the Crushers moved four points clear of Valley in the South Division standings.

The red-hot Dill has nine goals and eight assists in his last eight games.

Donovan Rehill, Aiden Hickey and Alex Bonaparte also tallied and Luke Melanson made 25 saves for Pictou County, who won their third game in a row, the first time theyve done that since mid-October.

The Crushers are a single point behind Truro in the standings and play at home this coming Thursday against the Yarmouth Mariners.

The Bearcats beat the Summerside Western capitals 5-4 on Friday in the Hubtown.

Pictou County and Truro both have three games in hand on the Wildcats, who lost Saturday night in Amherst.
