Pictou County Midget AA Subway Selects host championship

NEW GLASGOW - Two members of the Pictou County Midget AA Subway Selects were named to the All-Star Team during the Hockey Nova Scotia Female Midget AA Hockey Championship, hosted by the team this weekend at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.

Goaltender Leigha MacDonald, left, and Caitlin Taylor, who plays defence, received their awards on Saturday during the closing ceremonies.

Their team also received the Fair Play banner.

In round robin play, the Selects tied Cape Breton West and had three losses.

Metro West FORCE Black defeated the Cape Breton West Islanders in a shoot-out to win the gold medal.
