TRURO

It was an exciting weekend of Lacrosse for two Pictou County teams as they attended the Scotia Minor Lacrosse League Championships held at Colchester Legion Stadium June 22-23.

The Peewee Snipers played the Valley Thunder on Saturday and won 4-1 to make it to the championship game on Sunday. In the final, they won the overall League title with an 8-0 win over the Truro Bearcats.

The Bantam Snipers played the Valley Thunder on Saturday and rallied from a four-goal deficit to tie the game at 6–6 at the end of regulation time, in what most fans agree was the best lacrosse game of the season. Mere minutes into the overtime period, Lachlan MacDonald scored the Snipers’ seventh goal, solidifying their place in the Championship game on Sunday. Unfortunately, they could not hold off the Bearcats and lost 7-2 in the championship game, bringing home silver.
