Major Midgets go 4-0 at Early Bird tournament, set for season-opener

MOUNT WILLIAM – The Pictou County Weeks Major Midgets went 4-0 at the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League Early Bird tournament this past weekend.

At the Pictou County Wellness Center on Friday, Weeks defeated the defending league champion Dartmouth Steele Subaru 5-2.

On Saturday Weeks had a pair of wins: an exciting 2-1 overtime win over the Halifax McDonalds and a 5-4 Victory over Cape Breton West.

Sunday had the local squad shutting out the South Shore by a score of 3-0.

This coming weekend, the Major Midgets open their season at home, with games Saturday against Halifax (6:30 p.m. start time) and Sunday at noon versus the Cole Harbour Wolfpack. Both games are at the PCWC.
