The Pictou County Weeks Major Midgets pulled to the .500 mark this past weekend, getting three of a possible four points in the standings.

In an Oct. 13 game at the Pictou County Wellness Centre, Weeks outscored the first-place Halifax McDonalds in a 7-5 victory.
Merle Putnam had two goals for Pictou County, while Ryan Green, Devin Meagher, James Harrison, Bryson Currie and Jeremiah Martin also suppled goals. Riley MacKinnon, Brayden Schmitt and Blake Kontuk each had two assists. It was only the second of the season for Halifax (7-2).

On Saturday in Berwick the locals took the Valley Wildcats to overtime, before the Wildcats pulled it out in the extra session.

Schmitt, Kontuk and Lucas Canning had the goals for Pictou County.

Weeks now own a won-loss record of 2-2-2 and are in fifth place in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League standings, although they do have games in hand on teams ahead of them in the standings.

Pictou County is off to Dartmouth to take on the Steele Subaru Major Midgets on Oct. 19, and won’t play at home until Nov. 2.
