DARTMOUTH, N.S. - The body of an unidentified man has been found at the bottom of Penhorn Lake in Dartmouth, N.S.
A female lifeguard made the gruesome discovery while setting up for swimming lessons on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesman Const. Jeff Carr said they do not suspect foul play.
"We still haven't made a positive identification but at this point, we don't believe that the death is suspicious."
People at the scene said the man's body had been weighted down with a cinder block and his hands were bound together in front of his chest.
It is not known how long the body had been in the lake, which recently reopened to swimmers after being closed for over a week due to high levels of E. coli bacteria.
