Highland District Derby’s Kickin’ Vixens Roller Derby team started off their season with a win after Friday night’s game in Windsor, NS, against the Avon River Rollers team the Rebel Belles.
It was a hard fought and rough game with a close score come half time but the Vixens stayed true to their strengths as a team and pulled through with cleaner hits and more strategy in the second half.
The final score of the game ended 311-222 in favour of the Vixens.
MVP Jammer for the Vixens was number 28, DC Comicazi and MVP blocker went to number 120, Eye Sock Ya.
It was the first game of the season for the Vixens and the first game ever for the Rebel Belles. The Vixens’ next game is June 16 in Fredericton and a home game coming up on July 7.
