After a tough weekend playing two games back to back Pictou County's Roller Derby team, the Kickin' Vixens have returned from their game in Fredericton on Saturday with one win and one loss.

Taking on a tripleheader and the team’s first back-to-back bout schedule the Vixens matched up against P.E.I's Twisted Sisters for their first game. With a slow game full of hard hits it was a close one with the score teetering back and forth through the game. After a few minor injuries for the team, the Vixens slid into the lead just taking the bout with a final score of 170 to 166 to end their second game of the season. MVP Jammer for this game was Domino Karvee and MVP Blocker was Patina LaRoche.

Just 20 minutes later, the Vixens rolled on to the track and squared up for their bout with Fredericton's own Spitfires. Although already slightly worn out from the first game the Vixens were ready to go and kept up in the fast-paced game. Through the game, the Vixen's sustained a few more injuries and even saw a couple of first- and second-time players hit the track and show what they could do.

Ultimately, after a hard-fought and tiring game with some rough, hard hits, the bout ended with a score of 255 to 166 in favour of the Spitfires. The MVP jammer for the Vixens in this bout was DC Comicazi and MVP blocker was Eye Sock Ya.

During the double-bout day, the team was happy to have Brad Pittiful and Dame Smashews join on the bench as coaches, who helped lead the team to victory in the first bout and a hard-fought battle in the second bout.

Make sure you stop by the Trenton Rink on Saturday, July 7, for another tripleheader bout day right here in Pictou County! Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and the first game starts at 2 p.m. The Vixens will be facing off against Cape Bretons Tar City Rollers and the Halifax Dockyard Brawlers for their two games that day.
