The Pictou County WearWell Major Bantam Bombers, trying to climb the standings, picked up two more wins last weekend.

In the tightly-packed Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League standings, the Bombers have a 9-5-2 record, good enough for seventh place in the 12-team loop, but are just five points out of second spot. The Bombers have taken six of their past seven games.

On Dec. 1, the club edged the Dartmouth Whalers 4-3 in a shootout.

Pictou County rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the third period, tying the game on goals from Cade Moser and Jayden Duplessis to send it into extra time. Ben Wallace also scored in regulation, Logan Crosby set up two goals. Jorja Burrows got the victory in goal.

The previous day, Pictou County had another one-goal victory, nipping ACCEL Physio 3-2. Wallace tallied twice, Duplessis had the other goal and Cole Battist turned aside 23 shots in the win.
Crosby leads the Bombers with 23 points in 16 games (11G, 12A), and Wallace is second in team scoring with 19 points (10G, 9A).

The Bombers are in Truro on Dec. 7 to take on the Bearcats and host the Bedford Blues the next day at the Pictou County Wellness Centre at 11 a.m.
