TRENTON, N.S.
The Pictou County Scotians played the East Hants Penguins even for the first half of their Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League game on Oct. 13.
It was the second half of the game when things fell apart for the locals.
On Sunday night in Trenton, the Penguins snapped a 1-1 tie midway through the middle period and scored five straight goals, ultimately taking the game by a 6-2 margin. Penguins’ Colin MacDonald had a four-goal night, which included a natural hat trick in the second frame.
Jared Livingtone and Hayden Burgess had the goals for Pictou County, who were outshot 43-27.
The Scotians, who have a 1-3-1 record, play at East Hants on Oct. 18, and have a game two nights later against the Antigonish Bulldogs (6 p.m. start time at Trenton rink).
