TRENTON, N.S.

The Pictou County Scotians are on the ropes.

The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League club lost 3-1 Sunday in Game 4 of their best of-seven playoff matchup with the Glace Bay Miners, and after the 3-1 loss they find themselves trailing 3-1 in the series.

Jared Livingstone had the only goal for the Scotians at Trenton rink. His goal tied the game with less than 12 minutes to play in the third period, but Daniel Reid countered for the Miners just eight seconds later and Glace Bay added an empty-netter to seal it.

The Scotians will try to stay alive when they travel to Cape Breton on Thursday for Game 5.
