The Pictou County Scotians went 1-1 this past weekend in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League play.
On Nov. 10 at Trenton rink, the Scotians lost 5-3 to the Strait Pirates, who built a 4-1 lead by the early stages of the third period.
Scoring for Pictou County were Tyler Long, Cory McCrudden and Connor Aucoin. Long leads the Scotians with 10 goals in 13 games, whole the team’s leading point-getter is Ryan MacLennan, who has four goals and 12 assists.
On Nov. 8 in Antigonish, the Scotians doubled the Bulldogs 4-2. McCrudden sniped a pair of goals, Liam Rowland and Parker Stewart also found the range for the Scotians, and Sebastien Aucoin made 37 stops in net.
Pictou County, with just one win at home in six games, travel to Port Hawkesbury on Nov. 15 for a rematch with the Pirates, then play the next night in Liverpool against the Privateers. Their next home game will be Nov. 24, also versus Liverpool.
The Scotians have a record of 4-8-1, but are in the final playoff spot in the NSJHL’s Sid Rowe Division.
