The Northern AAA Subway Selects earned two more wins this past weekend after 4-2 and 6-0 wins over the Fundy National in Nova Scotia Female Midget Hockey League action.

The Selects traveled to Saint John on Saturday where they took on the Nationals in an afternoon tilt. Eva Wornell led the Selects, scoring a pair of goals, and KJ Emery and Lindsey Smith each added a single.

Lily Currie got the win between the pipes.

On Sunday morning, the Subways got off to a very quick start, scoring thee goals in the opening seven minutes of the first period. They would add one in the second and two more in the third to make the final 6-0. Sarah MacNeil had a pair of goals as did Wornell. Singles went to Taylor MacKenzie and Maddie Quinn. Jenna Landry got the shutout.

The Selects continue to sit in first place in league standings.

The team is off next weekend for Remembrance Day and will resume action as they play a home and home series against Boston Pizza. The Selects will host on Nov. 18 at 12:30 p.m. at the Pictou County Wellness Center.
