The Trenton Steelers took home the gold medal from the Middleton Mustangs peewee C tournament last weekend.
The Steelers went 4-0, with their first game resulting in a 13-1 rout of the Dartmouth Huskies.
Ethan MacKay scored five goals for Trenton, while Derrick MacKay, Brett Butler and Seth Francis each had two and Jake Maloney and Ross Swinamer added singles. Assists came from Landon Martin, Maloney, Ethan MacKay, Derrick MacKay, Carter Lennon, Swinamer and Butler. Caden MacDonald got the win in the Steelers’ net.
In the second game, the Steelers defeated the Halifax Black Hawks 9-2. Ethan MacKay and Maloney each had hat tricks for the Steelers, while Francis had a pair of tallies and Martin also had a goal. Assists went to Martin, Ethan Francis and Butler.
The winning goalie was Derrick MacKay.
The third game saw the Steelers defeat the host Middleton Mustangs 13-4. Maloney and Butler each had three goals, Ethan MacKay, Francis and Martin all had a pair of goals and Jesse Arbuckle pitched in with a tally. Assists went to Maloney, Swinamer, Derrick MacKay, Thai MacDonald, Ethan MacKay, Cole MacGregor, Francis, Arbuckle and Lane MacFarlane. The winning goalie was Caden Macdonald.
In the gold medal contest, the Steelers beat the Halifax Red Hawks 9-1. Ethan Mackay had a hat trick, Butler scored twice, while Maloney, Swinamer, Francis and Martin added tallies. Assists came from Ethan MacKay, Maloney, Swinamer and Martin. The winning goalie was Derrick MacKay.
