NEW GLASGOW, N.S. – The Summer Street Scramble is hitting a milestone this year.
The fundraising golf tournament – all money raised goes to Summer Street Industries (SSI) programming – is celebrating its 25th year in 2019. It will take place June 21 at Abercrombie Golf Club.
“Over our 25-year history, we have raised over $3 million in support of Summer Street,” said event co-chair Ray Wagg.
The golf event is one of the key fundraisers for SSI.
“We need our golfers, to make a difference in the lives of Summer Street clients,” added co-chair Barry Hamilton.
New this year will be a kitchen party (5-9 p.m.) at SSI after the tournament banquet, which will be held immediately following the tournament’s conclusion.
There is room for a total of 36 teams and organizers have set a target of $150,000. Golfers raise the money through collecting pledges,

Based in New Glasgow, Summer Street Industries provides opportunities for 200 people with intellectual disabilities through Pictou County. It provides services such as Personal Development Programs, Vocational Training Programs, along with programming for Wellness, Literacy and Employment.
