The News?
THORBURN - The Thorburn Midget 'C' Golden Hawks are the Highland zone champs.
The Hawks had their backs against the wall after losing game one 2-1 to New Glasgow but they came out flying in the second game, winning 10-1.
Brett Park led the way with two goals and one assist. Also scoring for the Hawks were Mason Aikens, Josh Stewart and Aaron Klum with two goals each.
T.J. Hayman and Kyle Behie had a goal and assist while Devan Sartoris and Shawn Brooks had three assists and Nick Fraser, Chad MacDonald, and Leon Marshall had one assist each. Corey MacCullum and Brandon Mackay shared the duties between the pipes.
Scoring for New Glasgow was Jared Fraser assisted by Chase Wilson.
In the final game the Hawks continued to fly as they beat the Bombers 5-1.
Leading the way was Aaron Klum with two goals, while Devan Sartoris and Kyle Behie had one goal and one assist and T.J. Hayman had one goal while Brett Park had one assist.
Corey MacCullum and Brandon Mackay were both strong in goal.
Scoring for New Glasgow was Kyle Fraser assisted by Ben Chapman. Keegan Matheson played a strong in goal for the Bombers.
