NEW GLASGOW – They’ve been getting some seasoning this summer at the Kinsmen ball fields.

About 60 kids ages 5-7 signed up for the Kinsmen’s Farm League program, where they spent six weeks learning the fundamentals of the game of baseball.

They started with three weeks of learning to hit the baseball off of tees, fielding grounders and working on their throwing arms.

“For the last three weeks, they’ve been playing actual games together,” said Kinsmen ball program coordinator Ryan Camp.

The six-week the program wrapped for 2018 with some water-themed activities at the west-side New Glasgow facility.

“We incorporated a lot of water-themed activities,” said Camp. “We’re very happy with the turnout.”
