NEW GLASGOW: Welcome weekend warm up!
After enduring more than a week of unseasonably cold weather, Mother Nature is finally going to turn up the heat. The arctic high-pressure system that was parked over central Quebec has started to sink southward and will soon allow for a return flow, or south-westerly circulation to set up across the region. Temperatures will return to near seasonal values for much of the weekend. In terms of weather, Saturday morning could be a little tricky. A trough moving in Friday night will bring an overnight mix of rain and snow with a risk of early morning freezing rain before the changeover to rain showers. The system won’t linger and we can expect late day clearing. Sunday looks lovely with some sun and only a slight drop in temperature. By the end of the day Monday, another offshore low will work its way up along the U.S. east coast. The exact location of the elusive rain/snow line is not yet clear. Tuesday could be a bit messy!
